The firm’s August 25, 2026 business disclosure filing supplies its identity, organization and office details. Its July 27, 2026 client brochure gives the April 2024 business-start date. Registration does not imply a certain level of skill or training.

Ownership and People

The July brochure identifies Matthew Greene as Pelican’s owner. The ownership information in the August filing lists Matthew Edwin Greene as managing member and chief compliance officer, with an ownership interest of 75% or more.

The August filing reports four employees, all performing investment advisory functions. It reports three as broker-dealer registered representatives, four as state-registered investment adviser representatives and four as licensed insurance agents. It reports no outside firms or people soliciting advisory clients on the firm’s behalf. These categories overlap; they should not be added together.

A dated employee count is not a count of everyone in an outside professional network. Read each person’s firm affiliation separately rather than treating a referral or coordination relationship as employment.

Clients and Assets

Pelican reported $119,006,151 in regulatory assets under management across 265 accounts, all discretionary, on August 25, 2026. Discretionary management means the adviser can make investment decisions within the agreed authority without obtaining approval for each trade.

Regulatory assets under management is a defined regulatory reporting measure for portfolios managed on a continuous and regular basis. It is not firm revenue, a performance result or a growth measure.

Fees are negotiable. Pelican generally requires a $100,000 household minimum, waivable at its discretion. The brochure states: “For households less than $100,000, an additional .25% is charged.” It does not specify the calculation base for that additional charge.

Fees are billed quarterly in arrears using the quarter-end balance, including cash or cash proxies. The custodian calculates and deducts the fee. The filed illustration is $100,000 × 1.25% ÷ 4 = $312.50 for the quarter. It illustrates the management fee, not every possible account expense.

The August business disclosure filing also reports fixed fees as a compensation method. The brochure does not supply a separate fixed-fee schedule. The brochure says Pelican does not charge performance-based fees. Third-party manager fees, commissions, custody charges and fund expenses may be separate.

The client relationship summary states: “You will pay fees and costs whether you make or lose money on your investments. Fees and costs will reduce any amount of money you make on your investments over time.”

Compensation and Conflicts Disclosed in the Brochure

Read the following alongside the fee schedule. Each describes an incentive that may matter when evaluating a recommendation.

Variable-annuity commissions. Certain professionals are registered representatives of LPL Financial and may receive commissions on variable annuities, including products recommended to clients. Those commissions do not offset Pelican’s management fees. The filings state that LPL is not affiliated with Pelican or a related party.

Insurance commissions. Certain professionals are separately licensed insurance agents and receive customary commissions on insurance transactions in addition to advisory compensation. The brochure describes this as a conflict of interest. Insurance compensation should be considered separately from an asset-management fee.

Mutual-fund share classes. The brochure discloses an incentive to recommend Class A shares where platform shares are also available. It describes differences in transaction costs paid by Pelican and ongoing expenses borne by clients. The share class matters even when the underlying fund is the same.

Custody-platform benefits. Pelican receives support from LPL, including research, software, market data and other services. The brochure describes a resulting incentive to recommend LPL’s platform. A benefit to the adviser is relevant even when it does not appear as a separate line on your bill.

Custodians Reported in the Filing

The August filing’s custody information lists LPL Financial LLC with $74,558,859 and City National Rochdale with $14,945,359. This part of the filing covers custodians holding at least 10% of the firm’s aggregate separately managed account regulatory assets under management. It is not necessarily an exhaustive custody list.

The July brochure separately states that clients are required to establish an LPL brokerage account for custody and trading. The custody information and the brochure answer different questions; neither should be used to promise asset safety or insurance coverage.
